Lu Jiajun has served as Assistant Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the Zhejiang University International Business School (ZIBS) since 2020. As one of the first faculty members at the founding of ZIBS, Lu Jiajun was deeply involved in building the Master of Finance (iMF) program from scratch. Centering on the national "dual carbon" strategy, he focuses on green finance policy, serves the nation's green transformation and environmental governance, responds to national development needs through academic research, and insists on empowering green transformation through research, telling China's story well in the classroom, and cultivating Chinese and international talents through practice. He has successively received honors including Zhejiang University's "My Favorite International Student Mentor" nomination award, the International Campus's first Zhejiang University Outstanding "Moral Education Mentor," Zhejiang University Outstanding Communist Party Member, the Zhejiang University Teaching Award, and the "BYD" High-Quality Employment Education Award (no more than 12 recipients university-wide each year).
Telling China's Green Finance Story Well
Lu Jiajun has always insisted on feeding teaching through research, integrating the national "dual carbon" strategy and green finance policy research into the classroom. He has published a series of papers in internationally high-level journals such as Nature Climate Change and the Journal of Banking and Finance, and has led projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a sub-project of the National Key Research and Development Program, the Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences Research Project, and key research topics of the national high-end think tank serving the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Ministry of Transport. He guides students to deeply participate in research training, effectively enhancing students' ability to transform academic research into policy practice through a combination of literature study, data modeling, and policy analysis.

The classroom is the main front for value guidance, knowledge transmission, and ability cultivation. In ZIBS's internationalized classroom, he organically integrates national strategic issues such as green finance, carbon neutrality, and environmental governance with course-based ideological and political education, explaining to international students the economic logic and institutional advantages of Chinese-style modernization, and guiding them to establish a "know China, friend China" philosophy. His courses such as "Chinese Urban Economy and Development" and "Sustainable Finance" introduce vivid practices such as the construction of the Huzhou Green Finance Reform Pilot Zone into teaching, forming a practical teaching model linking three segments: "classroom seminar—field research—policy analysis." The related case he led the design of and co-authored with students won the First Prize for Outstanding Teaching Cases in Professional Degree Graduate Education in Zhejiang Province.

He also serves as a youth commentator for China Global Television Network (CGTN), continuously speaking out in international mainstream media such as China Daily, commenting on important global sustainable development issues, and telling the world about China's green transformation and Zhejiang University's business talent cultivation exploration and practice.

In innovation and entrepreneurship education, he guided ZIBS undergraduate Shon Haksheng to lead an "AI + competitive sports" internationalized innovation and entrepreneurship project, which won the International Campus Entrepreneurship Competition Award, encouraging students to exercise their abilities and expand their horizons in cross-boundary integration. He has always advocated a mentoring culture of "both teacher and friend, moistening things silently," deeply participating in iMF program class activities and moral education work, paying attention to students' mental health and comprehensive development, understanding academic progress and living conditions, and providing timely care and guidance. He has successively received honors including Zhejiang University Outstanding Communist Party Member, the Zhejiang University Teaching Award, and the "BYD" High-Quality Employment Education Award. At graduation, students presented him with a bouquet adorned with peaches and plums—"Peaches and plums do not speak, yet a path is formed beneath them"—a sincere response to the teacher-student bond and the original aspiration of education.

Letting the World See China's Solutions
The value of Professor Lu Jiajun's education is reflected not only in students' individual growth but also in how they apply what they have learned to serve national development and participate in global governance. Among the Chinese students he has guided, 2 were selected as central government selected graduates, devoting themselves to the frontline of national governance; multiple students received honors including the National Scholarship, Zhejiang Province Outstanding Graduate, and Zhejiang University "Public Service and Perseverance" Scholarship. Carrying the green finance concepts and policy perspectives learned in the classroom, students move toward different positions, integrating personal growth into the overall national development.
In terms of international student cultivation, the 2024 Master of China Studies student Maria Nazeer Ahmed he guided joined the Pakistan branch of Xinye Technology after graduation, becoming the company's "Employee No. 1" in Pakistan. This case is a typical microcosm of ZIBS's internationalized talent cultivation: after completing their studies in China, international students bring Chinese experience and Chinese solutions back to their home countries, becoming bridges connecting China and the world—a vivid example of "studying at Zhejiang University to help Chinese enterprises go global."

Beyond classroom teaching, he actively promotes international students' participation in industrial practice and social service, personally experiencing the innovation vitality and social contribution of Chinese enterprises globally. This educational practice transcending classrooms and national borders enhances students' cross-cultural communication abilities and deepens their identification with China's development path. He guides students to publish commentaries in mainstream media such as Xinhua Net and China Daily, promoting students' growth from "listeners of China's story" to "international expressers of China's experience." Chinese and international students step from his classroom onto the world stage, emerging in fields such as green finance, international communication, and innovation and entrepreneurship, applying what they have learned to national development and global governance, and practicing the mission and responsibility of new-era youth with a posture of uniting knowledge and action.
