Boshi, which means Doctor in Chineseis an undergraduate in ZJE BMS. His father named him "Boshi" because he wanted him to be a man of learning and knowledge.

Since Feng Boshi enrolled in 2021, he has donated 400 precious books to the library twice, making him the first student at the international campus to donate books to the school. Most donated books are original editions and textbooks in biology and medicine, with over a hundred foreign-language originals. These collections have provided the Haining International Campus Library with rich and valuable resources, contributing to its growth and expansion.

From the first day of enrollment,

I have already become a lifelong alum of Zhejiang University.

Feng Boshi was born into a family of educators; his father worked as a researcher at a university. Due to various factors such as work, studies, and personal interests, by the time Feng Boshi entered college, their home already had a collection of thirty to forty thousand books. Simultaneously, being knowledgeable and rational, understanding the importance of gratitude, and being willing to contribute have also become the family's values and traditions in this household of educators.

As a student of Zhejiang University, Feng Boshi deeply understands that from the very first day of entering the University, he has already become a lifelong alumni of this university. How to repay the kindness of nurturing from his alma mater naturally became a matter of constant contemplation for Feng Boshi. After discussing this idea with his family, they collectively thought of donating books to the Haining International Campus Library. 'In the matter of repaying the trust and education from our alma mater, in addition to the child's own diligent study, as his parents, we also hope that he can undertake some charitable initiatives within his capacity,' said Mr. Feng Shuang, Feng Boshi's father.

A teacher from international campus expressed her gratitude to the Feng familyshe mentioned that because the workload for book donations is substantial, before each donation, Feng Boshi and his family carefully selected and reviewed the donated books, which required a significant amount of time and effort.

International Campus, Zhejiang University is currently in a phase of growth and expansion, in urgent need of more and better quality, as well as valuable library materials. Feng Boshi's carefully selected donations mainly consist of two parts: one part includes foreign-language original editions of biology and medical specialized books and textbooks published from the 1950s to the 1980s, many of which are precious collections purchased directly from abroad and have now become rare to find; the other part comprises Chinese editions of works and textbooks in the field of biology published in the last three decades of the 20th century. These donations will undoubtedly add new impetus to enrich the library resources of the new campus, assist scientific research by scholars, and contribute to the development of interdisciplinary talents.

"Donate at least 1000 books!"

"The act of donation is voluntary and it instils a sense of compassion, responsibility, and honour," Feng Boshi said. "Now, I love my alma mater even more, and it motivates me to study harder, achieve success, and bring honour to my university in the future!" In Feng Boshi's view, all of these are the positive and uplifting energy that public service activities bring to him.

In the impression of the counsellor-Teacher Zhang, Feng Boshi is a diligent, modest, and eager-to-learn student. He thoroughly understands and plans before undertaking tasks, actively engages in research and various volunteer service activities during his free time, and is a very warm-hearted student. "When I heard about Feng Boshi's desire to donate books, I strongly supported it because donating books spread goodness, not only aiding education but also warming the campus," Teacher Zhang said.

"What I am particularly passionate about is book donations. During my time at university, I will donate at least 1,000 books to the Haining campus library!" Feng Boshi stated firmly. He believes that his donation activities will continue in the future and become a public service activity that he is determined to persist with."
