The forum speakers are mainly researchers from the Zhejiang University - University of Edinburgh Institute(ZJE)，College of Life Sciences, Zhejiang University，College of Biological Science, University of Edinburgh.The forum discuss the synthetic biology direction and present the researchs on the topics of the multi-scaled computational integrative structural biology,the design, creation and new function research of eukaryotic genome,identification of natural product mimics by combination of bioinformatics and chemical synthesis ect. They aim to identify new structural medicine candidates from microbial secondary metabolites by combination of synthetic biology, bioinformatics, organic chemical synthesis, and characterization of biological activity in order to help people to solve microbial drug resistance problem. Synthetic biology combines science and engineering which enables researchers to study, modify, create and recreate highly complex biochemical pathways, DNA sequences, genes and natural biological systems, so as to understand and answer some of the most challenging questions about life.
