It aims to improve the integrated ability of language, deepening the assistant effects for building the comprehensive knowledge framework and the feeling of belongingness and happiness.

“Chinese I-IV” are compulsory courses for international undergraduate students, which aims to help them get basic knowledge of the language, practical conversation skills and some cultural knowledge in the language, so that they can adept themselves into the life in China better and get prepared for potential further studies work in China and communications with Chinese speakers. In the series of Chinese courses students’ skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing will all be trained and developed.

This course is a degree program for freshmen students at ZJU-UoE institute (ZJE) of Zhejiang University. The module is to offer the non-chemistry majored ZJE students an introductory university level content of Chemistry with the focus on biology relevant concepts. The course is meant to be completed within one semester and includes two major components. The first half of the semester covers basic concepts and principles of Chemistry, such as atoms, periodicity, chemical bonds and thermodynamics.

<p>Computational models of biological systems are used both in basic research and in applied medical and pharmaceutical settings. This course introduces the principles of computational biology and systems biology, and equips students with the skills needed to build, validate, and use models of biological systems, following standards for model quality and reproducibility. After taking this course, students will be able to: 1.Describe the key principles of computational modelling in life sciences.

<p>Endocrine and Reproductive Biology 3 (ERB3) comprises an integrated series of lectures, practical classes, workshops and tutorials focused on major aspects of endocrinology and reproductive biology in human health and disease. The aim of this elective is to develop knowledge in major aspects of endocrinology and reproductive biology in human health and disease. A particular focus of the course will be how the different endocrine systems interact and how hormones affect the actions of different systems throughout the body.

Global Challenges (GC) / Biomedical Horizons (BH) is an interdisciplinary course that draws on expertise from across the University of Edinburgh, Zhejiang University and the new international research institute in Haining to explore how biomedical science can be used to address some of the challenges facing the world. Central to the course are a series of guest lectures that will draw on ‘hot topics’ in biomedicine and their wider relevance.

Human Disease: From Research to Clinic 3A (HDRC3A) is a 20 UoE/2.5 ZJU credit, Semester 1 course. The course will use the understanding of disease pathways to explore how biomedical research continues to give rise to knowledge and understanding of pathophysiology and the treatment of disease. Teaching and learning activities will use in-depth analysis of specific disease examples from a range of biomedical disciplines, and using several major body systems.
