The Administrators Meeting of the International Campus was held at the Campus’ Multifunctional Hall, during which the decisions on the appointments were announced. Prof. HE Lianzhen, Vice President of Zhejiang University (ZJU), Secretary of the Communist Party Committee and Dean of the International Campus, and Prof. FU Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party Committee and Director of the Organization Department, ZJU, were present at the meeting and made some remarks. The meeting was chaired by ZHONG Yongping, Deputy Director of the Organization Department, ZJU.
ZHONG Yongping read the appointments document and the following announcement were made. Prof. OUYANG Hongwei was appointed as the Dean of the International Campus, ZJU; Prof. HE Lianzhen no longer serves as the Dean of the International Campus, ZJU
Prof. HE expressed her confidence in OUYANG, that he has shown innovation spirit and persistent pursuit of dreams in his work since he joined ZJU. She believed that under the leadership of ZJU and with the support of all faculty, staff and students, the Campus will surely achieve better results. She expressed firm support of the decision and would continue to support the work of Ouyang Hongwei in the future to promote the development of various undertakings of the International Campus. It is hoped that all the faculty and staff of the International Campus could continue supporting the work of the leadership and unite as one to work hard under the complex and ever-changing international situation at the critical moment of the start of the “14th Five-Year Plan” and the construction of the international collaborative education model.
Prof. FU pointed out that the personnel adjustment of the leadership of the International Campus is a prudent decision made by the Party Committee of the University, according to the development trend of the Campus and the next step development strategy, which also reflected ZJU’s expectation for the future development of the Campus. It is hoped that the leadership of the International campus will further enhancing its political stance, unswervingly serve as the international collaborative education model and fulfill the responsibility earnestly so as to do well in Party’s history education and cooperate the central government’s inspection of Zhejiang University. It is hoped that Prof. OUYANG Hongwei will reform and innovate and forge ahead with determination to promote the cause of the International Campus to a higher level and build the international collaborative education model to be more demonstrative, under the leadership of the CPC ZJU Committee and the CPC ZJU International Campus Committee.
OUYANG Hongwei made the statement that, he sincerely appreciated ZJU’s trust and affirmation and firmly supported the decision. He would adapt to the new role as soon as possible, continue to learn and improve his ability and grow together with the faculty, staff and students to jointly improve the connotation and quality of the international collaborative education model, under the leadership of CPC ZJU Committee. He indicated that since its establishment, the International Campus has made some achievements, but also faces many challenges. He said that under the new situation, the International Campus should maintain confidence and determination, adhere to first-class standards at all time, gather first-class resources and strive to achieve new breakthroughs in talent cultivation, Campus operation layout, interdisciplinary research, academic innovation and development.
Other attendees of the meeting included all the members of the Campus’s leadership, directors of administration offices and cadres holding a position of section chief or above and faculty representatives from ZJE, ZJUI and ZIBS.
