The International Campus held its New Year’s Gala 2019 & Awards Ceremony for 2018 in the auditorium on December 28, 2018 to recognize the achievements of 2018 and welcome the New Year of 2019. Professor He Lianzhen, Vice President of Zhejiang University (ZJU) and Dean of International Campus, ZJU, and Professor Fu Qiang, Assistant President of ZJU, Secretary of Party Working Committee and Vice Dean of International Campus, ZJU and other administrators attended the conference and presented awards to outstanding students.
A total of 312 students and 5 student teams of International Campus received a variety of scholarships and honorary titles in 2018. Among them, Chen Haonan, Lai Xinyi, Luo Kaiwen, and Zhang Yu were National Scholarship recipients; Jiang Lifei and 7 other students received Provincial Scholarships; 84 students received Zhejiang University Scholarships; 33 students were awarded Outstanding Students of Zhejiang University; 182 students were honored as Role Models; and 12 students were recognized as Excellent Youth League Members and Excellent Youth League Leaders of Zhejiang University.
On behalf of the Campus, Professor He congratulated the award recipients and extended New Year wishes to all the faculty, staff, and students of the Campus, as well as the friends who have been supporting the development of the Campus.
The Gala performances by the faculty, staff, and students of the Campus were very impressive, including traditional Chinese dragon and lion dance, piano solo by an international student, glamorous group dance, poetry recitation expressing deep feelings, etc. Many members of the International Campus showcased their talents together to celebrate the arrival of 2019.
