On April 20th, Wang Lu, Vice-governor of Hainan Province led a delegation to visit International Campus, accompanied by Yu Yongming, Deputy Director of Education Department of Zhejiang Province, and Luo Weidong, Vice President of Zhejiang University. A discussion was held to further promote exchanges and communications in higher education between the two provinces.
During the discussion, Fu Qiang, Assistant President of ZJU, Secretary of Party Working Committee and Vice Dean of International Campus, ZJU, gave an overview of the current development status and the long-term development plan of International Campus. Vice-governor Wang Lu highly recognized the educational model practiced by International Campus, and would like to import the advanced experience of the Campus’s Chinese-foreign cooperative education model to Hainan. He expressed that both Hainan and Zhejiang University have a lot of distinctive advantages. Hainan, located in the southernmost part of China, enjoys a pleasant climate, abundant natural resources, and is blessed with invaluable marine resources. Zhejiang University, with a time-honored history, is a comprehensive research university coving a full range of academic disciplines. He hopes that efforts can be made to advance the cooperation of scientific and technological transfer in some disciplines between ZJU and institutions of higher education in Hainan.
Vice President Luo Wei Dong stressed that Zhejiang University plays a significant role in promoting the development of higher education in China, and hopes that ZJU can contribute its part to the growing prosperity of higher education in Hainan Province.
