On December 27th, Cheng Yuechong, Vice-governor of Zhejiang Province led a delegation to visit International Campus, accompanied by Professor Zou Xiaodong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University.
Vice-governor Cheng and the delegation visited a number of buildings on the campus including the building complex in the south teaching area, the Academic Auditorium, Arts and Sciences Building, Library, and basic teaching buildings, followed by a discussion centered round the current development status and the long-term development plan of International Campus. Cheng highly recognized the significant achievements that have been made since the official establishment of the Campus. He added that the long-term development plan proposed is far-sighted and inspiring, and the Campus has seen a sound and healthy development momentum and pattern, showing full confidence and perspective towards the future of International Campus. He pointed out that with the continuous enhancement of the global influence of Zhejiang University, the establishment of International Campus not only represents the internationalization of higher education, but also a determinate move towards the realization of ZJU’s “Double First-rate" strategic initiative. He believed that the development of International Campus will make greater contributions to the prosperity of higher education in Zhejiang Province and the country.
