On December 26th, Professor Zou Xiaodong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University led a delegation to visit Haining City to witness the sighing of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Agreement between ZJU and Haining Municipal Government. After a great number of significant achievements that have been made under the cooperation between Zhejiang University and the city of Haining, the newly-signed agreement marked a new chapter for future cooperation.
Professor Song Yonghua, Executive Vice President of Zhejiang University, and Mr. Cao Guoliang, Deputy Secretary of Haining Municipal Party Committee and Mayer of Haining Municipal Government, signed the agreement on behalf of the two sides. According to the agreement, future cooperation on technology transfer, consultation on strategic development, personnel exchanges, resources sharing, and regional service will be carried out, aiming to create a mutually beneficial environment for the introduction of high quality talents, the establishment of innovative cooperation platforms, and the enhancement of national and global influence. In addition, the International Technology Research Institute to be built will enable Zhejiang University and enterprises in Haining to build platforms such as technology centers and academician workstations. Furthermore, an entrepreneurial and innovative platform will also be created to cultivate and attract leading talents in different areas, and to perform as the social practice base for graduate students in Haining. The Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation will contribute greatly to the realization of ZJU’s “Double First-rate” strategic initiative, and the integration of Haining into the Greater Bay Area.
Professor Zou suggested, on the signing ceremony, that Haining Municipal Government has long been paying high attention to talents development, education, and scientific research, and has been deepening its cooperation with Zhejiang University over the past few years. Thanks for that, a series of accomplishments have been achieved, among which, the successful establishment of International Campus is the best manifestation of joint-efforts from Zhejiang University and the city of Haining, a key move in the history of higher education development in both China and the world.
Mr. Zhu Jianjun, Secretary of Haining Municipal Party Committee, extended his gratitude to Zhejiang University for its continuous trust and support. He expressed that, Haining Government will further deepen the cooperation by giving full play its competitive advantages, committed to delivering more fruitful outcomes in the future.
