With joint and concerted efforts of Zhejiang University, Haining Municipal Government, and each construction party, the whole campus project covering a total area of 400,000 square meters was completed after three years of construction input. To celebrate this historical moment, The International Higher Education Forum & Grand Opening Ceremony of International Campus, Zhejiang University was held at the Multi-functional Hall on October 21st, 2017.
Professor Song Yonghua, Executive Vice President of Zhejiang Univeristy, Cao Guoliang, Mayor of Haining, Professor He Lianzhen, Executive Vice Dean of International Campus, Professor Fu Qiang, Assistant President of Zhejiang University and Vice Dean of International Campus, Professor Sue Welburn, Executive Dean of ZJU-UoE Institute, Professor Philip T. Krein, Executive Dean of ZJU-UIUC Institute attended the ceremony, witnessing together the grand opening of the Campus.
Distinguished experts and scholars from world-renowned universities including Harvard University, The University of Edinburgh, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Bath were presented at the forum, sharing viewpoints on mutually-concerned issues of internationalization of higher education, cross-border higher education, and general and liberal arts education. With the aim of accelerating the efforts towards the building of a world-class university, the forum will help ZJU to step into the forefront of world academic circle, and play an active role on the international platform.
