On September 22, the third Hai Club Talk in 2021 was held with theme of “Serving the Double-First Class Initiative, Building the International Collaborative Education Model”, focusing on the Discussion of Vision and Mission. Professor HE Lianzhen, Vice President of ZJU and Secretary of the CPC Committee of International Campus attended the meeting and had deep discussions with faculty member and students on the topic of the vision and mission of ZJU and International Campus.
HE pointed out that Mission and Vision is the soul of universities. At the historic crossroad of the "Two Centenary Goals", all faculty, staff and students are about to clarifying the challenges and difficulties we are facing and, are about to explore the program of action and implementation path of ZJU to build a world-class university with Chinese characteristics, and our Campus to build an international collaborative education model. through the Discussion of Mission and Vision. She emphasized that, as the nation enters the new development stage, the Campus should combine the construction of the more meaningful international collaborative education model with the mission and vision.
During the discussion, attendees discussed the Mission and Vision of ZJU and the Campus in the new development stage, from three perspectives, covering the overall understanding of the Mission and Vision, how the Mission and Vision leads the development of the ZJU and the Campus, and the individual mission. They also expressed the opinions on the specific embodiment of Mission and Vision in the four dimensions of talent cultivation, scientific research, social service, and cultural inheritance, as well as how to unify the country, university and individual development.
As a prelude, this Hai Club Talk set the stage for a discussion on mission and vision across the Campus. Professor WANG Yufen, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of International Campus, hosted this meeting, and some directors of the administrative offices also joined in the discussion.
