During his survey tour to the International Campus, President DU Jiangfeng urged that “the International Campus should undertake more significant tasks, polish the international collaborative education brand, empower ZJU to enhance its international reputation, and make positive contributions to building a world-class university with Chinese characteristics and excellent disciplines.”
On May 14-15, ZJU President DU Jiangfeng made a survey tour to International Campus. During his stay at the Campus, President DU visited the Residential College, the Library, attended the Lawn Concert, and had friendly exchanges with faculty and students. Meanwhile, he also visited ZJE, ZJUI and ZIBS, and was briefed on the education of the International Campus.

President DU fully recognized the educational accomplishments the International Campus had achieved to date. He stated that the “beautiful campus” integrating Chinese and Western cultures had created an excellent internationalized atmosphere and environment, providing faculty, staff and students with very good living and learning conditions. The construction and development of the International Campus reflected the “ZJU Model”. The establishment of the International Campus embodied the pioneering spirit of daring to think, venture, and strive. As one of the few internationalized education campuses of public universities in China, the International Campus combined the educational strengths of China and the West, innovated education and teaching models, offered dual-degree programs, and established the Residential College. All these measures demonstrated the care and support for students.

President DU pointed out that the International Campus should do what is appropriate and discard what is inappropriate, accurately position itself, and persist in seeking excellence, high-level development, and novelty. The International Campus should also adhere to its distinctive feature of internationalization, further grow in scale and quality in international education, technology and talent collaboration, international cooperation and exchange, and forge its distinctive characteristics. It should actively respond to the complex and ever-changing international situation, deepen and consolidate the existing foundation for international cooperation. It should also further innovate the systems and mechanisms for international collaborative education, create an ecosystem for international collaborative education, and provide high-quality soil for cultivating internationalized talents, recruiting and nurturing high-level talents.
