2024 marks both the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Italy, and the 700th anniversary of the death of Marco Polo. On the evening of November 8, 2024, President Xi Jinping and Italian President Sergio Mattarella met with representatives attending the China-Italy Cultural Cooperation Mechanism Conference and the dialogue between Chinese and Italian university presidents. Professor DU Jiangfeng, President of Zhejiang University, also participated in the event.
The International Campus has actively encouraged cooperation with Italian universities, particularly through ZIBS, which has partnered with institutions such as the University of Turin and Politecnico di Milano. These collaborations include the Master of China Studies program, the "Chinese Academy" LEAP Global Summer Program, and various short-term academic exchanges. More than 230 Italian students have pursued a Master's degree in China Studies, with many graduates contributing to the development of Chinese-Italian economic, trade, and cultural exchanges.

On November 11, Professor Roberta Ricucci and the delegation from the University of Turin visited the international campus following the Chinese-Italian University Presidents' Dialogue. During their visit, they engaged in discussions focused on further strengthening the cooperation between the two sides. Professor Ricucci also delivered a lecture on the cross-cultural competencies of European youth and engaged with students.

Looking ahead, the International Campus plans to deepen its collaboration with Italian universities, enhance the Master of China Studies program, promote Sino-Italian youth exchanges, and work towards building the "Study in China" brand, all while contributing to greater Sino-Italian friendship and cooperation.
