Faculty, staff, and students of the International Campus gathered together on December 21 to celebrate the winter solstice, ringing out the old and ringing in the new. They participated in a variety of activities, including fishing in the Qiuzhen Lake, traditional cultural experiences, and a complementary, free-of-charge, fish and lamb banquet. During the fishing event, about 1,500 kg of fish were hauled in, with the largest weighing an impressive 23 kg. Let's take a look back at the highlights of this memorable day!
"The fishing activity was very interesting. I’ve only been in China for about four months, and today I learned about China's 'fish' culture for the first time. The deep cultural heritage behind it left me with a lasting impression."
Ann-Kathrin Goetz, an international student from Germany, described the experience as both unforgettable and deeply meaningful.
