Dr. Di Chen’s lab focuses on the regulation of human embryonic stem cell maintenance and differentiation. Combining genomics-based sequencing techniques and CRISPR/Cas-based genome-editing strategies, the Chen lab is aimed to dissect the gene regulation mechanisms at transcriptional level based on transcription factors and epigenetic regulations, as well as at post-transcriptional level based on RNA-binding proteins and membrane-less organelles to understand how the pluripotency is maintained and how the direct differentiation is achieved.
