An elected Fellow (FSEng 2017) of Academy of Engineering Singapore (SAEng), a PhD from the University of Illinois (1996), Professor Der-Horng Lee was helmed by Qiushi Chair Professorship of Zhejiang University in October 2021.  Professor Lee was a tenured professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).  He is also a Fellow of Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) and the inaugural batch of Chartered Engineer (CEng) of transportation and rail engineering in Singapore.  Professor Lee’s professional expertise includes Smart Transportation, Smart Logistics, Transportation Planning, Transportation Policy, Metro Systems, Container Port Operations, Traffic Simulation, Public Transportation Systems, AI and Data Analytics in Urban Mobility Research, etc.  Professor Lee was an Honoree of 2002 TR100 Award (renamed to TR35 in 2005) by MIT’s Technology Review.  He is listed in “World’s Top 2% Scientists 2019, 2020, 2021” published by Stanford University.  As a foreign national academician who works full-time in China, Professor Lee was received by Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing in October 2019.
