Recently, “Develop new quality productive forces, strive to open a new chapter ‘Zhejiang University Serving Zhejiang’s High-Quality Development’ media investigation campaign” was successfully held on the International Campus. Led by AI Jing, Vice Director of the Publicity Department of Zhejiang University, more than 10 media across China, including China Media Group, China News Service, People’s Daily Online, Zhejiang Daily, and Sci-Tech & Finance Times, were invited to the International Campus to gain insights into its distinctive features and highlights in educational partnerships, talent cultivation, and regional services, as well as its role in empowering the regional new quality productive forces development.
Vice Dean QU Lijuan briefed the audience on the International Campus. She pointed out that the International Campus serves as the strategic educational base of Zhejiang University for proactively serving China’s education opening-up strategy and regional innovation-driven development strategy, helping Zhejiang become a strong province of education, technology and talents, and accelerating the construction of a leading world-class university. Since the official partnership was established in 2013, Zhejiang University and Haining City have made headways in collaborative education, talent cultivation, platform co-construction, resource sharing, strategy consulting and regional services, converged world-class talents, science and education resources, boosted university-industry high-level coordinated development, and blazed a path for promoting a city’s internationalized transformation and high-quality development through university internationalization.
The media delegation exchanged ideas with iZJUers on the issues related to the collaborative education and student cultivation of the International Campus. QU Haidong, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the International Campus escorted the delegation.
The media delegation also visited Juanhu Lake International Science and Technology Park next to the International Campus, explored in-depth the achievements of the International Campus in shaping new development advantages through technological innovations, developing new quality productive forces, cultivating and delivering high-quality talents, and advancing common prosperity.
During the “Zhejiang University Serving Zhejiang’s High-Quality Development” media investigation campaign, the delegation carried out profound investigations and interviews on the university’s engagement in the province’s innovation platforms, leveraged frontline perspective and first-hand information to discover, reflect on, summarize and distill the ZJU model of serving regional development. The delegation also examined the university off its campus, and dug deep into new stories, new problems and new solutions of the university’s high-level service for the province’s modernization through multi-perspective recording as well as graphic and textual presentation.
