Center for the Humanities and Social Sciences Established at International Campus

The Center for the Humanities and Social Sciences was established at International Campus, Zhejiang University on May 9, 2018. Dean He Lianzhen presided at the opening ceremony.

Dean He indicated, in her remark, “Humanities and social sciences are the foundation of natural and engineering sciences, as well as the key to the enrichment of academic environment and humanistic atmosphere on a university campus.” The purpose of higher education is not only to train professionals, such as engineers, medical doctors, and businessmen, but also to nurture students with values to become well-rounded persons of both morality and ability. The Center for the Humanities and Social Sciences will play a significant role in providing International Campus students a holistic educational experience.

Senior administrators from College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (in progress) and Center for the Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as a number of faculty members and students from Department of Philosophy, Zhejiang University, also attended the opening ceremony.
