This is a spoken English language course. The major learning objective of this course is to enhance the spoken English proficiency of undergraduate students to support their participation in international studies (e.g., the ZJU-UIUC study abroad program). A broader objective is to improve students’ success in standardized assessments required for participation in overseas study. This course focuses on developing spoken communicative competence and awareness of successful strategies for clear meaning making.

“Chinese I-IV” are compulsory courses for international undergraduate students, which aims to help them get basic knowledge of the language, practical conversation skills and some cultural knowledge in the language, so that they can adept themselves into the life in China better and get prepared for potential further studies work in China and communications with Chinese speakers. In the series of Chinese courses students’ skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing will all be trained and developed.

Integrated Enligsh is specifically aimed at freshman students in the first semester of their undergraduate study.</p>

The major learning objective of this course is to teach students the English skills needed to achieve the learning objectives of their biomedical science/engineering courses at the ZJU-UoE/ZJU-UIUC Institutes, and the broader learning objectives of using English in university settings. Integrated Enligsh is specifically aimed at freshman students in the first semester of their undergraduate study.</p>

This course aims to help the freshman students get ready for the challenge of entirely English major studying at International Campus. The summer preparation course includes: daily English listening and reading practice, frequent vocabulary quizzes, summary-writing and sharing tasks, a self-reflection writing program and an optional English book reading club with classic novels, etc.
