In Celebration of CPC Centenary, 2021 Faculty Capacity Building Program Sets Sail

On June 11th, the opening ceremony of 2021 Faculty Capacity Building (FaCaB) Program was held at the No. 4 Hall of Faculty Club.  Professor HE Lianzhen, Vice President of ZJU and Secretary Communist Party Committee of the International Campus, addressed at the opening ceremony. Professor WANG Yufen, Deputy Secretary of Communist Party Committee of the International Campus, Professor MA Hao, Deputy Secretary of Communist Party Committee of ZJUI, and the Class of 2021 FaCaB Program attended the opening ceremony. Class 2021 FaCaB consists of 27 members, inclduing both Chinese and international faculty.


Started from the identity of a ZJUer for more than 30 years herself, Pro. HE relived the history and development of ZJU’s 124 years with the Class, shared stories and anecdotes of Prof. CHU Kochen, former President of ZJU, and Prof. SU Buqing, and talked about the “Double-First Class” Initiative and QS Ranking of ZJU. Prof. HE also introduced the establishment and development of the International Campus, the Vision and Mission, as well as the plans of our Campus. She encouraged our faculty to be their “BEST” selves, who have firm Belief, good Ethics, fine Scholarship and Tenderness at heart.


Prof. WANG Yufen introduced the meaning and requirements of 2021 FaCaB Program. Class 2021 of FaCaB Program aims at familiarizing our faculty with the Qiushi Spirit of ZJU, experiencing China’s development, and facilitating collaboration between university, research, and industry. The program will also promote our faculty’s attachment to ZJU, their recognition of and commitment to the Campus’ construction of “an international collaborative education model” as well as to ZJU’s aspiration to build into a world-class university. Class 2021 will address the needs of our young faculty, and help them build all-around capacity in teaching, research and social service. We will organize varied activities, including field trips, lectures, and special sessions of SPARK Night etc.


Representing the 2021 Class, Dr LIU Wanlu shared her experience of joining 2019 FaCaB. She said it was a unique experience as she graduated from ZJU a few years ago and newly joined as a faculty member.



After the opening ceremony, the 2021 Class went to visit ZJU history Museum, Exhibition of CPC History and Development, Former residence of Lin Qi as the activities of first session.
