The International Campus, Zhejiang University, held its 2019 Campus Open Day and Second Student Cultural Festival on 14 April. Professor Fu Qiang, Assistant President of Zhejiang University, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Vice Dean of International Campus, ZJU, attended the event. Professor K.C. Ting, Vice Dean of International Campus, ZJU, and the Deans of each of the Joint Institutes made keynote speeches, introducing the philosophy, educational objectives and advantages of the International Campus and the Joint Institutes to the guests. More than 500 middle school students and their parents came to learn about the ethos and characteristics of the International Campus and experience the variety of international cultures represented here.
On-site consultation meetings were organized by each Joint Institute to answer questions about the 2019 admissions policy and other issues. In addition, laboratory tours were held for students.
Both students and parents showed great interest in the International Campus. Parents of a senior high school student from Shanghai said they had been keeping an eye on the International Campus for two years. Their daughter aims to get enrolled here as the teaching facilities and campus environment are outstanding. They hope the quota for Shanghai this year will be greater than last year’s quota.
The Student Cultural Festival was a huge success. Dressed in national costume, students from over 20 countries gave wonderful performances of singing and dancing, attracting the attention of visiting students and parents.
