The Industrialization Project of International Research Center for Information Science and Electronic Engineering won the Outstanding Award of the Haining Entrepreneurship Competition

       September 17, 2021, the 9th Haining Entrepreneurship Competition came to an end with all the roadshows completed and award ceremony held. The project "Electrophysiology-based Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Precision Diagnosis and Treatment Technology" of International Research Center for Information Science and Electronic Engineering, International Campus, Zhejiang University, stood out in the finals and won the Outstanding Award of the Competition.

       The project, led by Prof. DONG Shurong, puts forward a novel diagnostic and treatment method, titled "New Technology System for High-Density Electromyography Diagnosis and Treatment based on Stretchable Electronics".

       Based on the stretchable electronic airbag electrode, this technology accurately collects the data from the muscles, interprets the data, and gives a personalized treatment at the specific site. Here, in this, an EMG and thermal map of 12 pelvic floor muscles at 24 sites are accurately displayed. The system utilizes a time and frequency-domain evaluation method based on 7 parameters and designs a multimodal integrated intelligent diagnosis. Later, the active-passive personalized treatment system implements targeted personalized treatment for lesions.  Clinically, this technology can be a game-changer for obstetricians and gynecologists which can empower them to have a more accurate assessment of the damaged state of the pelvic floor muscles. Thus, it’ll be advantageous for medics to prescribe the right medication & treatment plans according to the actual situation of the patient, for quick recovery. The rehabilitation precision diagnosis and treatment technology are based on electrophysiology are one of the representative projects of multi-disciplinary integration and integration of medical, industrial, and information technology. The project team is composed of eminent professors, first-line clinicians, and senior investors from corporates, targeting clinical applications. The close cooperation of teams from various backgrounds come together to solve the clinical challenge to benefit society, by providing innovative strategies.

       International Research Center for Information Science and Electronic Engineering was co-founded by the College of Information Science & Electronic Engineering, and International Campus, Zhejiang University.
