The administrators meeting of International Campus was held at the multi-function hall on November 22, announcing several official adjustments of the internal institutions and the appointments of some key leadership positions. Professor HE Lianzhen, a member of the standing committee of CPC Zhejiang University Committee and Vice President of Zhejiang University, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of International Campus, and Professor FU Qiang, Vice Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Zhejiang University, and director of the organization department, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.
On behalf of ZJU, Professor FU Qiang made announcements about adjustments of internal institution on International Campus and relevant appointments. The adjusted internal institutions are Office of General Administration, Office of Planning and Advancement, Office of Human Resources, Office of Scientific Research and Technology Transfer, Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Student Affairs, and Office of Campus Operations and Support. According to the Communist Party Committee of Zhejiang University, CAI Quan was appointed as Executive Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of International Campus, ZJU, and Vice Dean of International Campus; QU Lijuan was appointed as a member of the Communist Party Committee of International Campus and Vice Dean of International Campus.
After announcing the appointments, Professor FU Qiang, on behalf of Zhejiang University, expressed gratitude to the outstanding contributions made by the previous leadership members and put forward his expectations for the incumbent leadership team to adapt to the current trends in globalization, which can be conceived as opportunities for International Campus to stand out as a model in international collaboration education. This vision entails the realization of strategic goals such as deepening the alliances with international partners; optimizing the structure of talent cultivation; fostering innovation with open-mindedness; creating a window for the internationalization of education, a special zone for discipline innovation, a connecting point for various regions, and a demonstration of a modern governance system. It is a firm belief of Professor FU that the International Campus, Zhejiang University will play a pivotal role in promoting the localization of international education in China.
Professor HE Lianzhen, as the Vice President of Zhejiang University, outlined in her speech her hopes for the new leadership team. According to Professor HE, the team members shall strive to keep broadening its horizons to establish a development pattern corresponding to the New Development Era; they shall integrate the discussions on ZJU’s mission and vision to shoulder the responsibility of China’s educational opening up and carry out the task of building the international collaboration education model while further identifying our uniqueness in students’ cultivation; they shall keep promoting cultural exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations, which is in line with the mission of building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
On behalf of the leadership team, Professor OUYANG Hongwei, Dean of International Campus, highlighted in his speech the resolutions of the new team. He said that the team shall take over the task of building the international collaboration education model; From the perspective of being one of the country's most fundamental interests, the team shall implement on the national strategy of educational opening to transform the campus into a model site featuring important global collaboration, vibrant disciplinary innovation, coordinated development across regions and world-class governance mechanism.
CAI Quan and QU Lijuan, members of the new leadership team of International Campus, as well as other newly appointed middle-level leaders also exchanged insights based on their respective duties.
