On the afternoon of October 29, the Committee Congress of the CPC at the Communist Party Committee of International Campus, Zhejiang University, was held in the Auditorium. Professor He Lianzhen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice President of Zhejiang University, and Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of International Campus attended the conference and delivered a party lecture, “Steered by the Mission and Working Together – Building the International Collaborative Education Model”. CAI Quan, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party Committee and Vice Dean of International Campus chaired the meeting.
The meeting emphasized that at a historic turning point, we should rally more closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, hold high the banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and diligently study and practice Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and meticulously follow the directions illuminated by the 20th Party Congress; forge ahead with courage and perseverance to accelerate the construction of a top-tier international collaborative education model. Furthermore, as a prelude to the 15th Party Congress of Zhejiang University, International Campus shall devote ideas and efforts to the strategy of invigorating China through science and education as well as to the establishment of Zhejiang University into one of the leading universities in the world.
Professor HE Lianzhen noted that the purpose of holding the International Campus Party Congress at the closure of the 20th Party Congress and the preparatory stage of the 15th Party Congress of Zhejiang University was to better grasp and implement the spirit of the 20th Party Congress. Furthermore, it is also for a timely update on the future standing of International Campus to come up with a strategic plan for building the international collaborative education model. To achieve these objectives, it is necessary to let the actions guided by the missions and to let the joint efforts bring breakthroughs.
Professor HE Lianzhen stressed that it is necessary to understand fully the significance of the 20th Party Congress to implement its spirit thoroughly. All party branches and party members should strive for a deeper political consciousness in absorbing the spirit of the 20th Party Congress from the perspective of accelerating the development of the International Campus. She also emphasized that it is necessary for us to fully relate with the strategic mission of International Campus in the new era, adhere to opening to the outside world, contribute to national prosperity through scientific and educational advances, and promote the coordinated development of the region. Focusing on the objectives of Zhejiang University for the development of the International Campus, led by our mission and vision, we shall continue upgrading our engine of growth to sustain high-quality development as the international collaborative education model. We shall also continue upgrading our unique system of “Education, Science, Industry, and the City” to achieve global competitiveness as an open ecology and grow into a demonstration zone where international education boosts regional development.
The congress elected three delegates for the International Campus to attend the 15th Congress of the Communist Party of China of Zhejiang University. The congress ended with the majestic L'Internationale.
All official party members on campus attended the congress, as well as mid-level cadres who are not party members and probationary party members.
