On December 7th, Professor FU Qiang, Deputy Secretary of CPC ZJU Committee led a delegation to visit the University of Edinburgh (UoE), to conduct in-depth exchanges on further consolidating and advancing the cooperation between the two universities on education development, discipline co-construction, and exchange of visits of faculty, staff and students. Professor KE Yuehai, Dean of ZJE, and Professor Sue WELBURN, Executive Dean of ZJE, accompanied Deputy Secretary FU on the visit.

Professor Peter Mathieson, Principal of UoE, Professor James Smith, Vice-Principal International, Professor Iain Gordon, Vice-Principal and Head of the College of Science and Engineering, and other leaders from UoE warmly welcomed the delegation. Both sides expressed high praise for ZJE’s education outcome and vowed to continuously deepen the partnership, keep expanding cooperation in science and engineering disciplines, further strengthen the exchange of students and administrative staff members, and join hands to create a role model of strategic cooperation between Chinese and British universities.

Additionally, the delegation also visited the BioQuarter and the King's Buildings of UoE to carry out in-depth research into the experience and practices of problem-oriented, cross-disciplinary basic research and clinical translations, as well as conducting exchanges of views on cooperation with the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
