Exploring the Pathways for Internationalization at Home

The International Campus was featured as a panelist at the 2024 China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education (CACIE), held in Beijing from October 31 to November 2. The conference brought together educators, experts, and practitioners to discuss ways to increase participation and promote equality in the field of international collaborative education and cultural exchange.

QU Lijuan, Vice Dean of the International Campus, spoke at a panel event, Seminar on exploring the practice of local internationalization in higher education. During her remarks, she highlighted that the International Campus is actively implementing a “high-quality, 1+X” approach to Internationalization at Home (IaH), fostering the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent through China-foreign joint institutes.“In alignment with the 2035 educational goals, the International Campus will consistently uphold its mission to cultivate students with Homeland Sentiment, International Vision, Global Competitiveness, and World Responsibility,” she stated.

At the conference, the China Education Association for International Exchange announced that Zhejiang University received the highest A+ certification in the 2024 Quality Certification for Higher Education for International Students in China, becoming one of only two universities to achieve this. As a pillar of Zhejiang University's global strategy, the International Campus has significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of education in China and attracting an increasing number of outstanding international students.

In 2024, the International Campus actively responded to the “San Francisco Vision” by initiating two summer programs. By initiating 2 summer programs, selected in the Young Envoys Scholarship Program, the International Campus attracted over 50 students from the United States, Italy, and China engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as sustainable development, the digital economy, and traditional culture. The programs deepened people-to-people exchanges and strengthened ties between the participating countries.

The China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education (CACIE) is one of the largest and most influential international education events in the Asia-Pacific region. Since its inception in 2000, it has annually drawn thousands of decision-makers, key influencers, professionals, and practitioners from all over the world. This year’s conference, themed “Education for All, the Unknown and the Future,” featured France as the guest of honor and attracted over 5,000 representatives from more than 60 countries and regions worldwide.
