On the afternoon of April 9, the Campus Briefing 2025, the 5th Session of 1st International Campus Faculty Congress (ICFC) and the 4th Session of 1st International Campus Trade Union Congress (ICTUC) were held. Professor HE Lianzhen, Vice Chair of Zhejiang University Council, delivered an address at the event; Professor LI Min, Chief and Vice Dean of the International Campus, presented a briefing on the Campus; Vice Dean QU Haidong chaired the Campus Briefing, and Vice Dean CHEN Liang chaired the ICFC & ICTUC.
Professor HE Lianzhen pointed out that the year 2025 marked the concluding year of ZJU’s 14th Five-Year Plan period and the second round of the “Double First-Class” Initiative, and was also the strategic development year for planning and undertaking the important task of building a leading country in education towards the new journey of the 15th Five-Year Plan. She emphasized that the International Campus should further expand educational opening-up, consolidate the existing international collaboration network, and expand global student admission channels, to build the “Study at ZJU” brand, boost the scale of Sino-foreign collaborative education, and enhance international academic impact; optimize the internationalized education model, forge and spill over the distinctive features of undergraduate education, deepen the distinctiveness of the cross-disciplinary education system for graduate students, and rely on the residential college education model to cultivate future leaders with “Homeland Sentiment, International Vision, Global Competitiveness, and World Responsibility;” accelerate the “Science-Education-Scholar-Industry-City” integrated development, strengthen university-city collaborative innovation, and assist in Haining’s internationalization. She particularly mentioned that, as the formulation of the 15th Five-Year Plan is now underway, the International Campus should strengthen global resource integration, take on a more active role in driving regional innovation and contributing to Zhejiang University’s position as a world-class higher education institution.
Professor LI Min reviewed the achievements of the International Campus in student education, faculty recruitment, scientific research innovation, and global engagement during the past year. She pointed out that, in 2025, in response to the master plan for building China into a leading country in education, the International Campus will work to expand its global collaborative network, strive to explore opportunities with multiple partners to facilitate new joint programs and joint institutions and develop substantial collaborative opportunities; continuously optimize the internationalized innovative students education system, enhance student research innovation capabilities, accelerate AI-powered teaching/learning implementation, continue cultivate pedagogical innovation projects, and maximize synergy among institutes, residential colleges, as well as the campus administration; further integrate education, technology, and talent development, enhance comprehensive support for young and international faculty members; strengthen interdisciplinary research with distinctive features; strengthen campus support services, enhance governance capabilities, deepen the "student-and-faculty-oriented" service framework, build a more harmonious and engaging community, and enhance the campus' sustainable development standards; advance the branding and enhance the impact of the international campus, take the 10th anniversary of the International Campus as an opportunity to establish a robust, innovative advancement system through fostering positive public relations and strengthening partnership networks.
ZJE, ZJUI, and ZIBS delivered reports on their progress and prospects in 2024, as well as the key tasks for 2025.
Professor KE Yuehai, Dean of ZJE, said that ZJE will continue to rely on ZJU’s medical science ecology and focus on supporting faculty growth and development by recruiting top-notch scholars from across the world, deepening Sino-foreign research collaboration, establishing joint research funds, and hosting high-end academic activities.
Professor LEE Der-Horng, Dean of ZJUI, reviewed ZJUI’s progress in education, research, faculty, and governance in 2024. He also stated that in 2025, ZJUI will break free from conventional thinking, avoid cognitive misalignment, and unburden itself of operational constraints. ZJUI will continue to work on major events, distinguished faculty, and strategic plans.
Professor BEN Shenglin, Dean of ZIBS, identified ZIBS’s 10 key tasks for 2025-2030, including Sino-foreign cooperative education projects, strengthening the international faculty team, building the “Study in China” brand, optimizing the student growth service system, advancing executive education, and expanding digital intelligence governance. He also said that ZIBS will devote itself to becoming an exemplar of a science & technology-focused premier global business school.
During the event, the award ceremony for “Employee of the Year 2024” was also held.

After the Campus Briefing, the 5th Session of the 1st International Campus Faculty Congress (ICFC) and the 4th Session of the 1st International Campus Trade Union Congress (ICTUC) were successfully held. The participants listened to and reviewed work reports from ICFC and ICTUC, a report on the proposal work of the ICFC, a report on the finances of the International Campus, and deliberated reports on the finances of the trade union and the work of the trade union fund review team. During the event, Professor LI Min presented awards for excellent proposals in 2024.
