The Advanced Electrical International Research Center is jointly built by the International Campus, Zhejiang University and the College of Electrical Engineering of Zhejiang University. Closely focusing on the "double first-class" construction goal of the University and the "14th five-year plan" development plan of the University, the research center is an important support point and extension platform for the “3 + X” strategic development of disciplines of the College of Electrical Engineering of Zhejiang University. Through close linkage with ZJU-UIUC Institute, it is committed to building a world-class pan electric international cooperation research base of "internationalization and strong intersection".
The research center is oriented to the international academic frontier of electrical engineering discipline, the major national needs in chip equipment system and other fields, serves the pan semiconductor regional development strategy of Greater Bay Area, Zhejiang Province, aggregates high-quality innovative resources at home and abroad, builds supporting scientific infrastructure and platform, and creates an internationalization that leads the future academic direction and promotes the development of power industry An interdisciplinary and collaborative joint innovation base. With an overall area of more than 3000 square meters, the research center is accelerating the construction of scientific research public facilities, such as electrical test platforms, graduate scientific research areas, scientific research labs area and conference facilities.
The research center mainly carries out research work in five fields, including high-capacity electric energy conversion and intelligent control, high proportion new energy power system analysis and control, power system energy storage technology and application, integrated energy system intelligence and security, and electrical materials and advanced technology
The Advanced Electrical International Research Center introduces high-level talents and teachers around discipline layout, platform construction and international school running. With the resources of International Campus at Zhejiang University, it has established in-depth cooperation with electrical engineering disciplines of many internationally renowned universities, such as Imperial College London, Champaign University of Illinois, University of Southampton, Aachen Institute of Technology, University of Hong Kong, Aalborg University, and Ryerson University. The International Joint Laboratory of Cyber-Physical System Intelligence and Security between Zhejiang University and the University of Southampton was established in 2020, and the international high-level postgraduate training mechanism was explored to further improve the internationalization level of the College of Electrical Engineering at Zhejiang University.
