The International Research Center for Green Building and Low-carbon City was established in March 2021. The director of the center is Prof. Jian Ge. The center has conducted in-depth cooperation with well-known research teams from the University of Cambridge, the University of Tokyo, Tohoku University, Cornell University, and the University of Hong Kong. The research center focuses on researches related to zero energy buildings, green and healthy buildings, low-carbon and healthy cities.
Currently, the research teams in the center consists of three professors, one researcher of “hundred talents program”, seven associate professors, two lecturers, and more than 40 postdocs, research assistants, PhD students and master students. The construction of the center has also been supported by many academicians and other well-known scholars at home and abroad.
The team has carried out dozens of research programs including National Science and Technology Infrastructure Program, National Key R&D Program of China, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, provincial and ministerial projects of Zhejiang Province, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Ministry of Education, and national key laboratory projects. Combined with the development of the construction industry in Zhejiang Province, the center has also undertaken various research projects related to green and healthy buildings and green eco-district. A series of influential national green eco-district projects have been completed including the three-star planning and design of the Zhangzhou West Lake Ecological Area in Fujian Province and the two-star planning and design of Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games Village. The research team has been awarded many awards including the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, the National Excellent Planning and Design Award, the National Green Building Renovation Prize, and the National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Industry Award. The team has also actively participated in the compilation of dozens of national and industry standards, and published hundreds of SCI and EI papers.
