Learning, Thinking, Practicing, Serving faculty and Students--A Glimpse of Voluntary Service Activities of the Party Branch of the Institutional Units

On the eve of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, as the main task of in-depth study and education practice of party history, the voluntary activity of "learning, thinking and practicing, serving faculty and students" was carried out with 19 party members and 16 colleagues from 7 departments participating in from May 30 to June 16. Each department combined its own business work and launched volunteer activities with their own distinctive, focusing on the needs of 150 faculty and students and promoting the effective solutions of 23 problems in 7 categories.

  • Solving problems and providing services on campus

To solve the problems of faculty and students in medical consultations, information services, financial reimbursement, academic affairs, the four departments of Office of Campus Development and Management, Library and Information Center, Office of Financial Affairs, and Center for Academic Affairs respectively organized voluntary services on campus to help faculty and students solve problems, which received unanimous praise from them.

  • Publicity and policy interpretation

To deepen teachers and students' understanding of the laws and regulations related to the business work, the Office of Scientific Research and Technology Transfer and the Office of Human Resources respectively launched voluntary service activities for the promotion of the "Biosafety Law" and related policies for foreign experts.

  • Self-service, convenient and efficient

To further deepen the efficiency construction of the departments, the Administration Office opened a self-service point at the campus service station to provide faculty and students with self-service such as printing transcripts, on-the-job certificates and delivery of financial appointment reimbursement forms. There is no need to cross-campus to handle related business.

Through the above-mentioned various forms of voluntary service activities, various departments not only effectively solved the problems related to the "urgent and anxious" of faculty and students, but also shortened the distance between faculty and students. It gave full play to party members to connect with the masses and provide services for the department. Party members have improved their professional capabilities in the service, and actively mobilized the masses around them to participate together. They have played a good role in the vanguard and exemplary model of party members.

Next, the party branch of the institutional units will summarize the good experience and practices in the volunteer service process, actively guide the normalization of the service activities, and practice "learning party history, understanding ideas, doing practical things, and opening up new situations". They will help faculty and students solve problems and play the role of a fighting fortress of the branch in solving problems, improving the efficiency and working style of the departments.
