Recently, with the conclusion of the fourth lecture, the 2024 Spring/Summer Admin Staff Evening Class successfully completed. Since its inception in March this year, the Class has been held once a month, featuring four informative and enriching themed lectures. Experts and scholars from various fields were invited to deliver these lectures, providing a rich intellectual experience for administrative staff.
The inaugural lecture was delivered by QU Lijuan, Vice Dean of International Campus. Titled "About ZJU’s 2024 Annual Work Conference," she comprehensively reviewed the remarkable achievements in 2023 in areas such as education and teaching, faculty recruitment and cultivation, scientific research, global cooperation, and campus governance. She also conveyed Zhejiang University’s key priorities for 2024 and clarified the International Campus's focal points for the year. Following this, Vice Dean Wu Jian delved into "The Relationships Between Generative AI and the Future of Humanity," exploring the development trends of artificial intelligence and its potential impact on humanity, which sparked widespread reflection among participants.
In the second lecture, YE Jianliang, a professor from the School of Economics, unpacked the significance of the new development paradigm from the perspective of the national economic cycle. He emphasized the fundamental supporting role of building a unified national market and guided participants to consider the campus's future positioning and strategies amidst the current economic landscape.
The third lecture was presented by WANG Lijian, Deputy Director of the Art and Archaeology Museum of Zhejiang University. He led participants on a journey through the charm of traditional Chinese culture, deepening their understanding and appreciation by detailing the compilation and publication process, as well as the significance of the comprehensive collection of ancient Chinese paintings.
In the final lecture, Professor MO Shenjiang, Vice Dean of ZIBS, focused on the "Leadership in the VUCA Era." He shared the latest concepts and enhancement methods of leadership, emphasizing the innovative thinking and adaptability required by leaders in the rapidly changing era.
This Evening Class not only provided valuable learning opportunities for the staff but also served as a platform for exchanging ideas and fostering intellectual collisions. Participants expressed that through learning, they had broadened their horizons, updated their management concepts, and improved their ability to solve practical problems. They are expected to apply what they have learned to their work in the future and to promote the International Collaborative Education Model progress.
As an integral part of the campus's iPRIDE Staff Enhancement Program, the Evening Class will continue to play a crucial role in enhancing the comprehensive qualities of staff, aiming at building a first-class management team with "International vision, Patriotic dedication, Resilience, Reform and Innovation, Dedication, and pursuit of Excellence (iPRIDE)".
