The International Campus Holds a Lecture on Teacher Ethics and Professional Conduct

The International Campus held a lecture on teacher ethics and professional conduct for faculty and staff on the afternoon of May 9th as part of the 2025 iBEST Early-Career Faculty Development Program. The event took place in the campus’s multifunctional hall. The keynote speaker was Professor LIU Fuyi, Deputy Director of the University’s Faculty Affairs Office. Professor LI Min, Chief and Vice Dean of the International Campus, attended the lecture and shared her insights on upholding teacher ethics and professional conduct. Also present was Vice Dean QU Haidong, along with the of deans of institutes and directors of administrative offices. The event was chaired by CHEN Ye, Director of Office of Human Resources.

Under the theme “Enhancing Professional Ethics, Promoting Educator Spirit: Building a High-Quality Faculty and Staff Team,” Professor LIU outlined the requirements for faculty and staff development in the new era. He systematically reviewed the achievements and challenges in professional ethics, highlighting Zhejiang University’s pioneering initiatives as a benchmark for professional practice. Referencing the “Ten Guidelines for Professional Conduct of Higher Education Faculty in the New Era,” he conducted an insightful analysis of disciplinary cases to clearly define ethical boundaries and strengthen participants' professional consciousness.

In her address, Professor LI Min emphasized that teacher ethics and professional conduct are central to faculty development at the International Campus. She urged all faculty and staff to strengthen their ethical awareness, stay committed to the mission of nurturing future leaders, pursue holistic growth, and continuously enhance their professional competence. "With passion as our premise and dedication as our cornerstone," she emphasized, "we must steadfastly uphold ethical standards in our mission to establish morality and cultivating people, advancing the university's vision of becoming a world-class institution with distinctive Chinese characteristics."

The event attracted over 150 attendees, with representation from both local and international faculty and staff.
