A delegation from the University of Edinburgh, including David Argyle, Vice-Principal of the University of Edinburgh and Head of the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, and Mike Shipston, Dean International of the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, recently visited Zhejiang University. The visit coincided with the 10th anniversary of both the International Campus and the Zhejiang University-University of Edinburgh Institute (ZJE). President Ma Yanming of Zhejiang University met with Vice-Principal Argyle on the Zijingang Campus. The delegation then proceeded to the International Campus. LI Min, Chief of International Campus, hosted a meeting with the delegation, joined by KE Yuehai, Dean of ZJE, Sue Welburn, Executive Dean of ZJE, Wee-Liat Ong, Vice Dean of Zhejiang University-University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Institute (ZJUI), and AI Ni, Director of the Office of Planning and Advancement.

Both sides commended ZJE's decade of achievements in student education and research collaboration, and held in-depth discussions on future priorities. They agreed to further strengthen cooperation in cross-disciplinary education and innovative approaches to student training. The Edinburgh side committed to encouraging regular visits by college heads to deliver master classes and foster closer academic exchange.

During the visit, the delegation toured the ZJE building to see firsthand the institute's teaching and research facilities. Professor David Argyle attended the ZJE Class of 2026 graduation ceremony and delivered remarks, praising the partnership's impact and encouraging graduates to apply their global perspective and academic excellence in service of scientific progress and society.
