A team of undergraduates from the Zhejiang University-University of Edinburgh Institute (ZJE) from Zhejiang University International Campus, has made history at the 2025 International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition in Paris.

The finals of “China International College Students’ Innovation Competition 2024” were held from October 12th to 15th. The team led by LI Siqi, a 2023 undergraduate student from the International Campus, won the gold medal in the international category of the national finals.

On July 21, the 2024 Zhejiang International College Students’ Innovation Competition successfully completed. Zhejiang University received the Outstanding Organization Award and won 25 gold medals, marking its best performance in recent years.

The First International Competition on Modern Bamboo Structure Building Design rounded off on May 13th.

Recently, Mr. FANG Junzhou (‘26, Computer Engineering), participated in the Fall 2021 UIUC Rhetoric Student Essay Contest with native speakers and was eventually selected as one of the Winner of the contest with his fascinating writing style, rigorous logical argumentation and excellent essay organization.

Recently, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education announced the winners of the Provincial Teaching Achievement Award 2021. The International Campus won the Special Prize of Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award for its “‘Self-Initiation, High-Standard, One to Many’, Building an International Collaborative Education Model”.    

The ZJU-UIUC Institute formally inaugurated Prof. LEE Der-Horng as the Institute’s dean on October 27.

Recently, under the guidance and recommendation of ZJUI Adjunct Faculty Professor Ryan Flanagan and Professor Mary Lucille Hays, Mr.CHU Xiaoyang (‘25, Civil Engineering) and Ms.WU Tianle (‘25, Electrical Engineering), participated in the Spring 2021 undergraduate Essay Contest of UIUC and eventually both of them were selected as winners of the contest with their rigorous logical argumentation and excellent essay organization.

In the 2021 fall, the International Campus welcomed 778 new students, including 404 undergraduate students in 13 majors, 299 master's students and 75 doctoral students.
